Located in Bathurst, New Brunswick, the Robert & Helen Knowles Memorial Home is a 13-bed nursing home care facility operated by Atlantic Baptist Housing in partnership with the New Brunswick Department of Social Development.

The unit is part of the Villa Chaleur complex, which opened in 1994 as Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit with 10 beds to serve veterans.Three additional beds were added in 2003, bringing the total to thirteen nursing home beds. 

On August 14th, 2025 Atlantic Baptist Housing in collaboration with the Knowles family and with the full support of the Board of Directors renamed the home.  This was done In recognition of the lasting impact both Robert and Helen have had on the community of Bathurst.  We were honoured to announce that the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit  is now be officially known as the Robert & Helen Knowles Memorial Home. This renaming ensures that both of these individuals — and their shared commitment to service, community, and care — will be remembered by generations to come.
